To assist in the operation of the school library resource center and in achieving learning objectives by working with individual students or groups of students to support learning programs in their designated educational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Academic Services Department by cataloging and maintaining the collection.
  • Supervises the distribution of library materials.
  • Assists teachers in finding appropriate classroom materials.
  • Assists students in the use of the Learning Resource Center (LRC).
  • Assists students in the use of the computers.
  • Maintains inventories of all materials and equipment in the LRC.
  • Assists with ordering of new materials.
  • Coordinates LRC volunteers.
  • Performs job-related tasks as assigned by the Academic Department or building principal.
  • Supervises students as assigned by the principal

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Ability to communicate with students, colleagues and administrators.
  • Visually observing student behavior
  • Collaboration skills
Qualifications (Education and Experience)
  • Possess a current Illinois ELS (Paraprofessional) license, or a Substitute License with a Bachelor's degree or Professional Educator License (Preferred).
Conditions of Employment
  • As designated by the School District's Official Calendar for the school year.
  • Salary and conditions established by the Board of Education.
Evaluation

Performance evaluation will occur in accordance with District 44 evaluation process and procedures.
