Position Summary:
Lisle CUSD is seeking a visionary leader to fill the role of Director of Student Services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of guiding the district's services for diverse learner populations.

Position Goal:
To facilitate the educational programming and placement of students assigned to Special Education and English Learner (EL) programs. This leader will provide direct technical assistance regarding the formalization and organization of effective service delivery throughout the district, while providing leadership in continuous program development and improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
  • Licensure:
    • Professional Educator License (PEL) with Director of Special Education Endorsement required.
    • Valid Illinois Driver's License.
  • Education:
    • A master's degree in the field of education with an endorsement in an area of special education is required.
  • Experience:
    • Prior supervisory or administrative experience in special education.
    • Strong background in special education rules, regulations, and laws (IDEA, Article
      7).
    • Training and experience with laws and policies that govern English Language Learners (ELL).
  • Professional Knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of research, best practices, and innovation in curriculum and instructional design.
    • Expertise in evidence-based practices, assessment, coaching, and data analysis.
    • Knowledgeable of learning theory and best practices for students and adults with special needs and/or disabilities.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Leadership:
      Evidence of ability to facilitate teams and work independently.
    • Communication:
      Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
    • Facilitation:
      Evidence of strong facilitation skills with small and large groups, with the ability to clearly communicate teaching and learning outcomes to teachers and stakeholders.
Compensation:
Salary range $170,000 - $220,000, includes Board-paid TRS and annuity, to commensurate with experience.
