Job Description

TITLE:

MULTILINGUAL RESOURCE TEACHER (Bilingual Spanish)

Qualifications

Professional Educator License (PEL) with bilingual endorsement (Spanish). Certified in ACCESS and WIDA assessment administration preferred.

Job Goal

To help multilingual students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals

Performance Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with educational teams to support multilingual students

Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of multilingual students

Supports a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor

Supports the development a healthy learning environment

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum and language outcomes while communicating clear objectives for all students

Employs a variety of instructional techniques, including the use of multilingual instructional strategies, to meet the needs and challenge the capabilities of the students

Implements the district's philosophy of education and instructional outcomes

Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required

Diagnoses the needs of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required

Works cooperatively with colleagues as members of a team to accomplish school and district goals

Implements the district's Health and Accident/Injury Procedures and Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan

Supports and implements the district's Risk Management Policy to ensure that statutory and common law health and safety rights are extended to all visitors, employees, and students, to provide careful supervision and protection of all District real and personal property.

Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation

Assists the administration in implementing conducting language screening and assessment

Supports students and parents transitioning to US schools for the first time

Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required

Demonstrates evidence of professional growth

Performs additional duties as assigned

Contract and Compensation

182 day contract

Starting salary is $48,000 (25-26 rates) for a BA, with the final salary determined by education and experience

12 sick days/4 personal days

HMO-PPO Medical& Dental Insurance (HMO employee only - no cost)
