Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking a candidate that would be teaching a partial day as a Resource Teacher for Briar Glen Elementary School and a partial day as a Prekindergarten Teacher, making this position a full‑time teaching position at Briar Glen Elementary School for the 2026‑2027 school year.
Job SummaryThe special education resource teacher will provide special education teaching services at Briar Glen Elementary School. This position will case‑manage a group of students that have goals and accommodations to support social‑emotional skill development in an inclusive environment. The resource teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with greater needs, collaborating with teachers, parents and other professionals to develop and implement formalized plans, ensuring compliance with all special education regulations.
The Early Childhood/PreK Teacher will teach a blended preschool classroom. This teacher will be tasked with implementing district policies as they relate to the classroom. Every effort will be made to see that each student receives an equal opportunity for education by using lesson plans, both individualized and group, to adapt the curriculum to each student.
QualificationsAll applicants for this position are required to meet the Illinois State Board of Education requirements, including a PEL with SCGE (Birth to Grade
3), EC, and LBSI. SPED and EL endorsements are preferred.

All certified staff are placed on a salary schedule according to education and experience as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The starting BA, 1 salary for the 2026‑2027 year is $57,220.00.
Certified staff receive 12 sick days and 4 personal days of paid time off. All full‑time staff have the privilege of participating in our health and dental insurance programs; these include up to 90% board‑paid health insurance for the employee and 100% board‑paid dental insurance for the individual staff member.
