Specific Working Conditions

Five hours a week at $16.60 per hour.

Ministry Functions
  • Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships. Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life, including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word. Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within an active church community, actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community, and lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders, committee, and staff” includes volunteer care, recruiting, team building, training, supervision, and vision casting. Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership regularly, recruit and train new leaders to build a community‑reflective leadership team, model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping, and attend area leadership as assigned.
  • Resource Development — “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding), and the TDS team. Raise financial support per direction, maintain good donor care practices, communicate ministry updates and progress to donor partners, assist with camp fundraisers, and attend occasional committee and adult functions as assigned.
  • Direct Ministry — “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners, and camp. Actively engage in all three levels of contact work, lead a team to conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry with excellence, contribute to a summer and school‑season camping strategy, and potentially serve on summer staff or assigned staff at a Young Life property under area director direction.
  • Ministry Support — “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, internal communication, data management, and strategic planning. Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures, maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct, and time management, set yearly ministry and personal goals, assist with office administration as required, complete expense reports promptly, and perform other duties in line with gifts, experience, and area needs.
Training
  • Mission wide Training – None required or recommended.
  • Regional Training – No mission wide regional‐level curriculum; regional training events may be required at the director’s discretion.
  • Area Training – Job assignments under the supervision of the area director or mentor, with individualized training to develop personal spiritual maturity and character. Focus on acquiring ministry skills (e.g., the 5 C’s), learning area strategy and ministry health, and gaining introduction to personal fundraising principles. Engage in Young Life discipleship experiences such as summer staff, discipleship focus, and adventure camping.
Education

Pursuing a college degree.

Qualifications Required
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Profess a belief in Jesus Christ as a personal Savior and Lord and subscribe to the Young Life Statement of Faith.
