Before And After School Program Director

Community Unit School District 200 is seeking a Before and After School Program Director for one of its elementary schools. The Director is responsible for the management of the Before and After School program including the administration, operations, human and financial resources to ensure a safe, efficient and effective environment for students. The Director collaborates with families, students, faculty and staff to promote a safe and nurturing environment for students.

Assistant Superintendent of Student Services/ District BASP Director

Oversees: BASP Assistants

Performance Responsibility:

  • Financial Invoice each family each week or as needed. Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end statements of all payments for families as needed. Collect payments, turn in checks and statement to administration building or school office. Record payments and provide receipts as needed. Remind parents of late charges and collect them. Maintain accurate annual budgets. Follow Parent Handbook Administration Supervise, direct, and provide input for evaluation of staff Purchase all food, equipment, and needed supplies.

    Establish and use purchase order accounts at area stores. Keep accurate attendance records; maintain a system to record pick-ups of children. Keep track of and know who has authority to pick up each child. Bill DCFS for family co-payments (YWCA). Meet with principal as needed. Know and encourage following of all school rules and policies. Attend directors' meetings.
  • Safety:
    Where/what to do during weather emergency, intruders (lockdown, evacuation), Safety plans. Children Account for all children during all sessions. Administer basic first-aid when necessary. Provide a breakfast, snack, and drinks daily. Provide alternatives for children with food allergies. Provide and maintain a quiet homework area. Work with all children and their special needs and parental special requests. Help children grow and develop socially, physically, and mentally.

    Help with conflict resolution as necessary. Provide appropriate choices of activities for multi-ages and interests. Plan and implement trips or special activities (for full day activities during teacher in-service institutes).
  • Families Provide parents with program information as needed. Answer all parent questions and respond to all parent suggestions, concerns and inquiries. Environment Set up room before beginning of school year. Maintain room and equipment so area is neat and inviting. Put away and clean all equipment at year-end.
