Elementary El Teacher
Community Unit School District 200 is seeking an elementary EL teacher to provide pull-out services with emphasis in English as a Second Language. Certification requirement: current Illinois elementary professional educator license (PEL) with ESL endorsement/approval. Qualifications/skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish. Ability to demonstrate competency in organization, flexibility, and cooperativeness. Access certification preferred.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
screen entering students for ELL services; plan and deliver English language development instruction for ELL students; work collaboratively with general education teachers to assess the progress of students on a regular basis; confer with parents and teachers concerning individual students; consult with classroom teachers regarding curriculum modifications necessary to meet the needs of the English language learner; maintain records for direct served and monitored students;
maintain and improve professional competencies by attending professional development opportunities; attend staff meetings at building and district level.
