Description

This position provides general accounting, budgeting and administrative functions, including grant reporting and compliance

Requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Operates within the Du Page Pads  Core Values, which supports providing care in accordance with the Trauma Informed Policy and Practices of the Agency.
  • Maintain accounts payable system; process all agency bills, expense reports and check request; produce payments to vendors
  • Process credit card receipts from staff; reconcile receipts to statements maintaining audit policies producing payments and or entries to accounting system
  • Adhere to office policies; maintain audit recommendations; assist with preparation of annual audit
  • Prepare monthly budget reports for program leadership
  • Assist in preparation of budgets for grant applications and budget reports for grant monitoring and compliance
  • Track grant spending, prepare monthly billing for program activities to funding sources and monitor collection of billings
  • Monitor interrelationships of grant funding sources and grant matching fund requirements.
  • Complete month-end journal entries to record financial activity
  • Coordinate information for compliance audits and assist with preparation of year-end agency financial audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to develop and monitor budgets and data.
  • Ability to design, analyze, and prepare financial reports.
  • Ability to monitor expenditures and maintain data
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to details and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills with a high degree of analytical ability.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate positively to staff and peers outside the agency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well independently; self-directed and internally motivated.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred
  • At least three years of experience in a financial accounting position.
  • Working knowledge of fund accounting principles pertinent to nonprofit setting a plus.
  • Non-profit or Government grant reporting experience a plus.

    Non-Exempt
