POSITION SUMMARYUnder administrative direction, oversees and manages treasury operations for the DuPage County Treasurer’s Office. This position serves as the principal deputy to the Treasurer, providing leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of financial functions, including cash management, investments, banking relationships, and fiscal operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Serves as principal assistant to the DuPage County Treasurer
- Provides leadership and direction for treasury operations, including collections, cash management, investments, and financial reporting
- Directs and administers the County’s investment program in compliance with state statutes, policies, and prudent financial practices
- Establishes, implements, and monitors internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and compliant financial operations
- Oversees general ledger activity related to treasury functions, including payroll postings and bank reconciliations involving sensitive financial data
- Acts as authorized signatory on bank accounts and primary liaison with financial institutions
- Manages banking relationships, including account administration, contract oversight, and coordination of banking services
- Monitors and coordinates bank mergers, system conversions, and related impacts to County operations
- Supervises, assigns, and evaluates staff; participates in hiring, promotion, disciplinary actions, and performance management
- Reviews and approves departmental budgets, expenditures, contracts, and capital requests
- Serves as liaison with County departments, external agencies, and financial institutions to ensure effective service delivery
- Responds to public and internal inquiries regarding treasury operations and services
- Prepares, reviews, and audits financial reports; leads special projects and operational initiatives
- Ensures transparency by overseeing publication of financial information, including uncashed checks, on the Treasurer’s website
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, treasury, or financial operations
- At least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial role
A pre‑employment background check is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSedentary work involving exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently to move objects. Work primarily involves sitting, with occasional standing and walking.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
