Position Summary

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Financial Analyst I within the DuPage County Finance Department.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, compile, organize and document relevant financial information.
  • Analyze, consolidate and interpret financial data.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets, including trend analysis and forecasting.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management.
  • Monitor actual results of financial data against plans, forecasts and budgets.
  • Consolidate a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of both short‑term and long‑term business plans.
  • Review, evaluate and recommend revisions to departmental expenditures for conformance to budgeted amounts.
  • Review resolutions and committee agenda for financial commitments.
  • Review county‑wide spending and advise departments/elected officials on need for budget transfers; process county‑wide budget transfers and appropriations.
  • Verify, prepare and review daily deposit sheets for various functions within county departments.
  • Prepare departmental invoices.
  • Prepare various reports and studies as assigned.
  • Assist with tort liability reconciliation and other county insurance matters.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the budget system.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • A passing score on Intermediate Excel and Basic Word tests.
  • Pre‑employment background check.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Work is predominantly sedentary; occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
