We are pleased to offer the position of Life Enrichment Supervisor within the Kenneth Moy Care Center. This position is part of the Recreation Therapy Department and collaborates with volunteers along with employees within the department to deliver quality programming for the residents.

Responsibilities
  • Directs the development of all house life enrichment therapy programs and services with a view toward maintaining interest and improving resident quality of life
  • Monitors programs to determine progress toward department and facility goals
  • Ensures documentation and programming by assigned life enrichment staff meet federal, state, Illinois Department of Public Aid (IDPA) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) through monitoring and training
  • Ensures that programming meets the needs of various types of residents as defined by standards set forth by IDPH and IDPA
  • Plans and organizes all house activities
  • Supervises volunteers during activities and provides support to the residents related to transporting, feeding, and other personal needs
  • Participates in care plan meetings with residents and families to assure quality care
  • Completes state and federally mandated documentation
  • Assesses each individual resident with regard to needs for leisure and adaptive equipment
  • Performs one‑on‑one assessments with residents unable to participate in group activities
  • Assists and supports all life enrichment activities
  • Coordinates with department manager to assess staff competency and provide for staff training and development
  • Acts as a liaison between the Care Center and community organizations in regard to planning for resident programs
  • Coordinates services with other departments to maximize resources
  • Assists with the development and management of budget
  • Assists with the coordination of various fundraising events
  • Keeps current with job related professional developments and/or regulations
  • Recommends hires and promotions, directs, evaluates, and adjusts grievances for all assigned positions
  • Participates in facility‑wide quality improvement initiatives and projects
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience as a team lead or a supervisor
  • Certification as a Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (C.T.R.S) as required by the State of Illinois
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License will be required when travel is part of the position
