Position SummaryPhysical Therapist Assistant (PTA), 0.03 FTE, In‑House Registry (IHR). Assists under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, providing safe and effective physical therapy services to patients with physical illness, injury, congenital or developmental disability, and/or aging‑related conditions. This is an on‑call/PRN position with opportunities to work at multiple network locations (Wheaton, Downers Grove, Palos Heights, Elmhurst, Homer Glen, Oak Brook Terrace).
Monday‑Friday weekday availability is preferred. Not a benefited position.
- Provide physical therapy modalities and treatment procedures as determined by a treatment plan, maintaining high‑quality patient care.
- Deliver interventions, teach patients and families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Modify interventions within the scope of the established plan, seeking PT approval for changes beyond the plan.
- Coordinate with supervising PT regarding service termination when maximum benefit is achieved.
- Use doubles, grouped, or joint treatment sessions judiciously.
- Maintain productivity level of direct patient care as outlined by Marianjoy policy.
- Maintain treatment area, equipment, and supply inventory.
- Schedule and prioritize workload.
- Perform other duties assigned by the director or manager.
- Show flexibility with schedule to meet patient and team needs.
- Deliver services consistent with the mission, vision, and values of NM.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights and dignity of all individuals.
- Stay current on policies and procedures related to precautions, codes, and safety.
- Use safe guarding techniques and assistive/adaptive devices based on patient assessment.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Document all services, patient responses, and changes in status accurately and timely.
- Engage in professional growth by attending internal and external educational events.
- Complete mandatory education requirements, including timely CPR certification.
- Contribute to cost effectiveness of services and programs.
- Demonstrate a visibly positive working style and commitment to NM values.
- Comply with APTA Code of Ethics and state licensure laws.
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and caregivers, tailoring information to patient age, cognitive status, and language abilities.
- Participate in patient‑related conferences, professional meetings, and organizational meetings as requested.
- Collaborate with a variety of professionals.
- Provide suggestions for improvement and maintain positive relations with all customers.
- Maintain open communication with the Manager regarding availability and growth opportunities.
- Associate’s degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Illinois.
