We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Franchise Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This role provides legal advice and support to our franchise business, ensures compliance with franchise laws, drafts and negotiates franchise agreements, and maintains regulatory compliance. The candidate should be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and organizational skills capable of handling complex franchising issues.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD), Franchise Agreements, and related documents.
  • Ensure compliance with franchise laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Provide legal counsel on business law, transactional law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advise on risks and issues related to franchising and propose practical solutions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, opinions, and briefing materials.
  • Provide training and guidance to the franchise business on legal matters.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with franchise laws and regulations.
  • Handle dispute resolution and litigation matters related to franchising.
  • Collaborate with the legal team and business units to achieve company goals.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience focusing on franchise law.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating FDDs and Franchise Agreements.
  • Solid understanding of franchise compliance, business law, and transactional law.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent client counseling and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
