Reports to:

Building Principal and Director of Buildings and Grounds.

To provide a safe, clean, comfortable building for children, staff members and patrons.

• Previous custodial or related experience.
• English/Spanish fluency preferred.
• Ability to interact positively with young children, parents, and staff.
• Willingness to adapt to interruptions.
• Ability to operate and maintain heating, plumbing, and ventilation systems.
• General knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

• Assumes responsibility for the appearance and function of assigned building and grounds.
• Completes cleaning schedule for the areas assigned within the frequency requirements provided, including, but not limited to, hallways, lounges, classrooms, and restrooms.
• Inspects and locks building before leaving for the day.
• Assists in the unloading and delivery of supplies and equipment being delivered.
• Transports trash and waste to dumpster site and maintains this disposal area.
• Regulates building temperatures, as specified.
• Attends departmental and training meetings.
• Works cooperatively with the Head Custodian and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.

$16-17 per hour
