Downsizing by Design is seeking compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Support Associates to help seniors and families through life's transitions. Whether someone is moving into a smaller home, transitioning to senior living, or helping a loved one relocate, our team provides hands-on support, organization, and care during an emotional time.

We are looking for candidates seeking part-time work who have flexible availability to work full days Monday through Friday, as projects are scheduled. Candidates must be able to accommodate full-day assignments rather than only short shifts.

Position Overview As a Support Associate, you'll work alongside our team to help clients prepare for and complete residential moves. Every day is different, but your work will directly help families by making stressful situations easier and more manageable.

This is an active, hands-on position that combines customer service, teamwork, organization, packing, and light moving.

Projects typically range from 2 to 8 hours, depending on client needs. Full-day availability is required when scheduled.

What You'll DoAssist clients with sorting belongings into items to keep, donate, sell, gift, recycle, or discard.

Carefully pack household goods, including fragile items, artwork, antiques, and valuables.

Label and organize boxes for efficient moving and unpacking.

Help unpack and organize clients' new homes.

Assist with light furniture movement and household setup.

Work closely with team members to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional customer service.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Handle clients' personal belongings with care and confidentiality.

Represent Downsizing by Design professionally at all times.

Available for full-day assignments Monday through Friday Qualifications Flexible  availability to accept part-time assignments Monday through Friday, including full-day projects of up to 8 hours.

Ability to remain available for the full scheduled assignment.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Ability to travel throughout DuPage, Kane, Will, West Cook, North Cook, and Northwest Cook counties.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.

Comfortable bending, standing, climbing stairs, packing, and moving household items.

Previous customer service experience preferred.

Experience in moving, packing, organizing, retail, hospitality, senior care, home services, or warehouse work is a plus, but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.
