DuPage Legal Aid is a not-for-profit providing legal assistance to indigent residents of DuPage County in the areas of family law, such as divorce, parentage, orders of protection, and guardianship.

The Office Manager & Grant Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative operations of DuPage Legal Aid while coordinating grant management, reporting, and organizational compliance. This position plays a key role in supporting staff, maintaining office systems, preparing organizational reports, managing payroll and human resources functions, and assisting with fundraising and grant administration. This position works closely with the Executive Director and assists in supervising attorneys, support staff, volunteers, auditors, grantors, and community partners to ensure efficient office operations and continued organizational success.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with grants management, reporting, payroll, office administration, or nonprofit operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of grant procedures, including application, implementation, monitoring, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with office technology, databases, and case management systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with legal services, nonprofit administration, or grant‑funded programs preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of providing access to justice and legal services to low‑income individuals and families.
  • Ability to respond to sensitive and emotionally difficult situations with professionalism, discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for file storage and records management purposes.
Pay scale and benefits

Starting salary of $55,000, with opportunities for annual increases and performance-based bonuses.

Paid Time Off (PTO):

10 paid vacation days annually

8 paid personal days annually

Paid Holidays:

Office-wide holiday break from December 24 through January 2

SEP IRA enrollment after one year of employment, with a 10% employer contribution.

$450 monthly medical insurance stipend

Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.

Employer-provided $10,000 life insurance policy.

Potential for a hybrid work schedule, including the option to work remotely.
