Step into a meaningful role supporting students and staff as a Registered Nurse within a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate closely with the Certified School Nurse, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and faculty during a vital maternity leave coverage. The assignment runs from October 26, 2026, through January 22, 2027, with the possibility of an extension.

Enjoy consistent full-time hours from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, working onsite and directly impacting the school community.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering direct nursing services, first aid, emergency care, and illness assessment in line with professional standards and school policies.
• Administering medication to students and staff, keeping precise documentation, and ensuring medications remain secure at all times.
• Supporting the Certified School Nurse with health and wellness programs and special projects including managing allergy, asthma, or seizure action plans.
• Assisting in maintaining the health office and providing general support to maximize efficiency within the department.
• Monitoring and reporting on building AEDs to keep emergency equipment functional and ready for use.
• Maintaining accurate medical records, immunizations, physical exams, and ensuring compliance with state mandates and archival requirements.
• Acting as a mandated reporter by assessing and making referrals for suspected abuse or neglect.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• A current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Documented experience working in a school setting as an RN.
• LPN credentials are not accepted for this position.
