School-Based Registered Nurse; RN; Wheaton, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact in the educational setting as a registered nurse supporting a high school student in a one-on-one role. In this contract opportunity near Wheaton, IL, youll work onsite two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00am2:30pm), providing dedicated care to a male student who is a quadriplegic and requires specialized medical support. The assignment begins August 24, 2026, and extends through June 28, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Demonstrated experience working in a school setting
• Hands-on expertise with tracheostomy care, ventilators, and urinary catheterization
• Ability to lift to assist with student care as needed
• Background in critical care strongly preferred
• Commitment to providing compassionate, reliable care in a school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized nursing care to a high school male student with complex health needs
• Monitor and manage trach and ventilator, administer urinary catheterization, and respond promptly to any changes in condition
• Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure safety, advocacy, and clear communication
• Maintain healthcare documentation and comply with school policies
• Offer encouragement and contribute to a positive educational experience for the student
