POSITION SUMMARY

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Wastewater Operator Intern within the DuPage County Public Works Department. This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work. For detailed information on paid time off, visit , Section 5.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities Include:

• Draws samples of water for laboratory tests and analyses
• Cleaning of machinery, equipment, and pumps
• Observe and assist with addition of chemicals according to prescribed standards
• Reads gauges and transmits data to superior
• Observe and assist with routine chemical analyses of water
• Observe and assist operators with plant rounds
• Observe and assist with operation of plant equipment

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Requires the applicant to be actively taking undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution to obtain an Illinois water/wastewater license, Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree, or be a recent graduate (within one year).

Requires a valid driver's license.
