Electrician

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking an Electrician to join our Field Operations Facilities team located in West Chicago, IL. This role is a great opportunity to join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high‑quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve.

We are looking for a skilled, experienced electrician with 4–6 years of related experience to join the Facilities team. Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and solar photovoltaic systems is preferred. This position works in a variety of settings and will require travel throughout the district.

Schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening and weekend work possibly required.

• Skilled Trades & Technical Training; 4–6 years of related experience
• Journeyman‑level electrician skill level or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Valid Electrical License covering the National Electrical Code for residential, commercial, and industrial installations recognized by DuPage County, or ability to obtain such license within 6 months of hire
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing;
  Class C Driver’s License required within 6 months
• Must pass a medical evaluation and fit test, per OSHA regulations, to ensure a respirator can be safely worn when required
• OSHA 10‑hour 1926 training and confined spaces training within 6 months of employment
