School Social Worker
Enhance the well-being and success of elementary students by supporting them as a school social worker in a contract role starting as soon as possible through October 2, 2026. This position is perfect for those passionate about making a difference in a school environment near Wheaton, IL. In this onsite-only role, you will actively collaborate with educators and provide vital social-emotional support to a diverse elementary caseload.
DesiredQualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Work (SSW) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Prior experience working in a school setting is required
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students and staff
- Dedication to advocacy and collaboration within special education and general education settings

- Provide direct and indirect counseling and social-emotional support to a caseload of approximately 25 elementary students
- Partner with special education teachers to deliver push-in classroom services in specialized settings
- Conduct assessments, implement interventions, and help develop plans targeted at student success
- Engage with families and staff to address student needs, foster positive outcomes, and ensure a supportive school climate
- Participate in student-focused meetings, document progress, and maintain compliance with district and state requirements
You’ll be working full-time onsite, immersed in the daily routines of a welcoming elementary campus, making a significant impact in both general education and special education classrooms.
