Job Summary

As a member of Management at JD Finish Line, you will be the heartbeat of our store, responsible for managing daily operations, inspiring a high‑performance team, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.     Create an exceptional shopping experience by addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring high standards of service.

    Drive store sales and profitability through effective merchandise management, promotional strategies, and achieving sales targets.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Oversee daily operations including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
  • Financial Management:
    Manage store budgets, control expenses, and analyze sales data to optimize performance and drive revenue growth.
  • Marketing & Community Engagement:
    Implement local marketing initiatives and build strong relationships with the community to enhance brand presence and attract new customers.
  • Innovation & Problem‑Solving:
    Stay current with industry trends and competitor activities. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance store operations.
  • Additional duties and projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or similar role, with a track record of achieving sales targets and managing a team.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
  • Analytical skills: ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Flexibility: willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Tech‑savvy: proficiency in retail management software and basic computer applications.
  • English language proficiency: must speak, read, and write clearly to converse with customers and supervise staff. Must also perform business‑related mathematics.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physical ability to stand, stoop, kneel, lift 5–25lbs, and use ladders or stairs as required.
Work Hours & Availability

Assistant Store Manager – open throughout all hours required to open and close the store (morning, day, night), minimum 5 days/week, standard 44‑hour week with increased hours during peak periods such as holidays and back‑to‑school. Supervisor – same availability with minimum 30‑hour week. All managers must be available on weekends and holidays, maintain punctuality, and regular attendance.

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged standing (approximately 5–14hours/day), occasional long work periods up to 12hours during peak sales, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, climbing ladders or stairs, lifting 5–25lbs routinely, and operating in a moderately noisy retail environment. Good vision with color differentiation required.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 2+ years’ experience in retail leadership strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Assistant Manager: $19.20–$22.70 per hour with bonus opportunities if KPIs are met. Supervisor: $20.00 per hour. All roles eligible for the company 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, sick leave, parental leave, and company‑paid time off. Full‑time employees also receive benefits.
