We make Great Food from Great People. We are looking for an experienced HR Specialist.
The HR Specialist provides both technical and strategic support to the HR team. The individual in this role will be a critical member of the HR team and of the company, increasing efficiency, and contributing to a positive company culture and high level of employee engagement. This position is located in our Corporate Offices in Wheeling, IL.
- Provide operational support for HR initiatives and partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and business leaders) to improve HR workflows and employee experience.
- Support HR projects focused on standardization, automation, and process alignment.
- Assist in the design, rollout, and communication of HR initiatives, policies, and programs.
- Handle new hire and termination workflows, including drafting internal offer and termination letters, employment letters, processing status changes, and coordinating system access/logins.
- Perform I-9 employment eligibility verification and maintain compliance with federal requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze HR‑related reports, including headcount, turnover rates, recruitment statistics, and training.
- Generate and deliver periodic HR metrics reports for senior management, highlighting key trends and insights.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the company’s HRIS for the purpose of data management and reporting.
- Maintain and update HR content on the company intranet.
- Manage HR inbox and respond to employee inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of internal communications, updates, and announcements to keep employees informed on policies, programs, and events.
- Track HR training compliance, ensuring employees complete required courses and certifications.

- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of HR Generalist or HR Operations experience.

Universal Pay VerbiageThe following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $65,000 and $80,000. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre‑tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability, and life insurance.
