The Sanitation Technician follows procedures and SSOP’s to perform proper cleaning on production equipment to ensure safety and hygiene. May record information to reflect sanitation activities and issues.

• Responsible for effective sanitation of the various plant equipment and departments.
• Must be able to follow equipment cleaning instructions as listed in the Sanitation Procedures Manual.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must become familiar with cleaning chemicals by name, function, and usage rate and become chemical certified.
• Timely notification to Maintenance, Manager and/or lead of equipment problems.
• Notify Manager and/or Lead of actual or potential problems.
• Must be able to follow verbal instructions from Manager and/or Lead.
• Must be detail oriented and be able to work independently.
• Responsible for compliance with GMP’s, proper sanitation, and housekeeping in area.
• Responsible for use of required safety equipment and complying with proper safety procedures including wearing proper protective clothing, steel toe boots and safety goggles at all times.
• Other duties as assigned by Management or volunteered for.

• Experience operating electric pallet jack.
• Experience using a variety of equipment including a power washer.
• Previous sanitation experience, minimum 1 year.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures, a variety of instructions, diagrams or schedules.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands or finger to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.

• Sanitation Staff works third shift, 8 hours a shift Monday-Friday 10:30pm - 7:00am with overtime available as needed on weekends.

This position is based at our Wheeling, IL location.
