MANUAL MACHINIST

We are a family-owned company thatdesigns, manufactures, and develops high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles since 1986. We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our 1st Shift Tool Room team.

The Manual Machinist will manufacture components for high precision injection mold tools and custom automation. This includes analyzing specifications, setting up and operating machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to make cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and hand tools.

• Visualize and compute dimensions and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications
• Study blueprints or specifications and use GD&T to plan sequences of operations for the manufacturing of tools, dies, jigs and molds
• Perform machining operations and set-up on tool room equipment such as milling equipment and surface grinders
• Verify dimensions, alignments, smoothness and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators and microscopes
• Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Knowledge of tool making techniques and methods
• Ability to set up and operate Surface Grinder and Manual Mill
• Ability to work within tolerances of +/-.0002 on a daily basis
• Ability to work from drawings, verbal instructions, and specifications to produce precision parts
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including a microscope
• Ability to follow all safe work practices and wear PPE as necessary
