The Machine Operator is responsible for the production and inspection of all work orders assigned. This role is primarily responsible for operation, housekeeping and other functional attributes of the Fin Tube milling centers, creating product for quality review, preparing and reviewing material scans for the start of production, conducting quality checks during production, and operating the overhead crane as needed. Strong focus on quality and troubleshooting of tools and other production elements, identifying defects during production, and adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines.
Works directly with a team lead for work assignment and reports to Shift Supervisor.
Base Pay: $21.00/hr
Schedule: Weekend Only – Part-Time, 24 hours. Shift Differential: 1st Shift $2.00, 2nd Shift $4.00.
- 1st shift 7:00am-7:00pm
- 2nd shift 7:00pm-7:00am
- Responsible for the set‑up and operation of Fin Tube machines, including understanding tube types, material dimensions, identifying defects, and ensuring conformances.
- Inspect in‑process material as specified in work instructions, report non‑conforming material and follow proper disposal methods.
- Maintain a clean and safe work place, ensuring all PPE, equipment safeguarding, and protective devices are functioning and used in accordance with all EHS safety standards.
- Record quality data, scrap counts, and material usage in the WFS to ensure inventory and product movements are recorded accurately.
(All duties are unique to our facility. Training will be provided.)
Qualifications- Good written and communication skills.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe for all personnel.
- Report all incidents that may impact the area of work, material being produced, and other team members to supervisor.
- Suggest job‑related improvements and cost‑saving ideas.
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet requirements of the position and organizational expectations.
- Able to perform set‑ups and quality troubleshooting to minimize impact to production flow.
- Recognized as a strong contributor within the organization.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. (preferred).
- CNC machining experience (a plus).
- Understanding of measurement math related to decimals and fractions, and ability to perform other basic math functions.
- Manufacturing experience, preferably with knowledge of machine function and interface such as HMI input/output, printing or labeling auxiliaries, direct computer input for production order start and finish operations.
- Involves periods of standing, walking, and negotiating stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks, and platforms in hot or cold production environment on slippery surfaces.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, etc.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs maximum.
