We are looking for a motivated and dependable individuals to join our Attaching department as an Attaching Mechanic. Our company is seeking Attaching Mechanics for 2nd shift (2pm to 10pm). These individuals are expected to operate and support production equipment with a high level of technical competence and safety awareness. They will be responsible for setting up multifeeders, plows, precision components, and glue systems, as well as safely clearing jams and performing proper equipment power-up and shutdown procedures.
RequirementsEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Be able to setup multifeeders, plows and precision equipment as well as setup glue systems.
- Be able to safely remove a jam from equipment without risk or injury or damage to the equipment
- Know how to safely power up/down the equipment
- Know how to identify glue required, and keep the glue tanks properly filled
- Be effective at communicating requirements with other team members on attaching jobs, supervision, and maintenance
- Ensures all required documentation is completed on the production line for all team members and turned in to the supervisor
- Responds to QC alerts and concerns with the required measures to satisfy the situation by requesting the right assistance (supervision, setup, or mechanical technician, etc.)
- Alerts supervisor to any condition where excessive downtime is being experienced
- Leads initiative to keep the area clean and safe throughout the shift
- Knowledge of all positions on a production line to assist in other's understanding their roles and performing them
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Average English/Spanish oral and written communication skills
- Job and Technical Knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment
- Full motion/motor skills in all body parts.
- Ability to stand or walk for entire shift.
- Position requires some mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
