Mechanical Machine Assembler; NO FIRMS

Job Description

We are a manufacturing company in Wheeling, IL seeking a mechanical Machine Assembler to join our team! You will assemble mechanical sub assemblies and machines according to blueprints, manuals, engineering prints, and assembly instructions. Verifies mechanical functions, alignments, and final machine set-up.

Responsibilities:

• Build, fit and assemble components according to blueprints, manuals, engineering prints, and assembly instructions. Documents alignments as needed.
• Analyzes assembly blueprint and build manuals; plans machine building operations.
• Operates machine to verify function, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
• Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments.
• Occasional travel required to install, align and service equipment at customers’ site.
• May perform occasional hazardous waste management activities.
• Adheres to ISO 9000 quality procedures.

​Qualifications:

• Associates degree from a technical college and/or 5+ years of experience in machine repair or machine building.
• Basic knowledge of machine shop equipment and safety precautions.
• Competency using measuring equipment for the purpose of assembly and machine alignment.
• Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision once trained.
• Has good time management skills, is efficient, well-organized, and possess strong communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in written form, with engineering staff, manufacturing operations, management personnel and peers.
