Part Time Security Officer

Position Overview

Purpose for the Position:
To patrol hotel and public premises in order to maintain safety and security of the hotel on behalf of the associates, guests, and ownership.

• Effectively monitor and protect hotel assets.
• Collaborate with departmental head on ways to improve preventative and responsive security measures.
• Assist in emergency procedures.
• Follow proper patrol procedures and ensure proper documentation of property patrols.
• Assist with shipping and receiving procedures.
• Understand hotel’s cash handling procedures and report any procedure violations to the General Manager and appropriate management.
• Follow proper investigative procedures for loss of hotel assets and ensure compliance with policies.
• Effectively monitor and control access to public area, storage areas, associate areas, and locker rooms.
• Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.
• Log activities and events occurring on shift.

• Interpret and follow established policies.
• Deal with the general public, customers, staff, supervisors, and government officials with tact and courtesy.
• Plan and organize workload.
• Cope with interruptions.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Security Certification is preferred.

Sunday & Monday. Might be required to work other days/shifts as needed.

Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Talking. Hearing.

Both:
Inside and outside. A job is considered “both” if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts, approximately 75% or more of the time inside.
