Airside Experience Specialist - PWK
Signature Aviation is hiring an Airside Experience Specialist to provide a range of services for general aviation aircraft, crew and guests. The role is responsible for safely delivering requested services at the private aviation terminal while operating ground service equipment, coordinating with pilots, crew and guests, and maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment.
Responsibilities- Work as part of a team to conduct airside operations safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies and SOPs, ensuring accurate communication through various methods.
- Collaborate with team members, guests, clients, vendors and aircraft crew members to meet service needs such as fueling, de‑icing, lavatory, ground power, potable water, parking, marshalling, wing walking, catering delivery and towing.
- Prepare for arriving/departing aircraft, identify and perform open‑job tasks, and speak up or point out safety concerns.
- Operate ground service equipment (fuel trucks, de‑icing trucks, ground power units, tugs, stair trucks, etc.).
- Load and unload luggage and cargo into/out of aircraft and from the PAT or guest vehicle.
- Provide professional and friendly guest service, maintain a positive and helpful attitude at all times.
- Offer safe, courteous transportation while driving the shuttle vehicle.
- Maintain safe, clean, and secure ramps and operations.
- Handle fuel management, including quality control, receipt, inventory and documentation.
- Enforce all operational, safety, and guest‑service requirements for all aspects of the job.
- Stop work if an unsafe condition or act is likely to cause harm; report concerns to the manager.
- Follow emergency response procedures during critical events.
- Enforce all security (physical, cyber, data) protocols as dictated by Signature Aviation and the airport.
- Create accurate records of time worked and services performed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Pass company background checks, drug tests, airport background checks, and be insurable under company policies.
- Legally authorized to work in the jurisdiction of employment.
- Excellent vision and coordination; pass color‑vision test for aviation fuel inspection.
- Valid state driver’s license; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required in some locations.
- Good judgment and ability to follow supervisor directives.
- Preferred: 3–6 months experience or training in aviation, customer service or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hospitality:
Energetic, outgoing, guest‑obsessed, mult-task in fast‑paced settings. - Language:
Read and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals in English; communicate clearly in English. - Math:
Perform simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, angles, degrees, time). - Physical:
Operate ground‑support vehicles, fuel trucks, vans, tugs and cars; perform tasks safely from elevated heights. - Critical Thinking:
Carry out multi‑step instructions, handle standardized situations with few variables. - Interpersonal:
Work well with others; effective collaboration with team members and service to guests. - Multitasking:
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. - Computer:
Use a computer, email, learn company software, pass computer‑based training modules. - Task Management:
Complete Signature’s training programs timely.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $19.00 per hour, varying by skill set, education, shift, responsibilities, seniority, location, merit and experience.
