Overview
This role oversees the administrative operations of the Sullivan and Wyoming County Courts under the general direction of the President Judge. Key responsibilities include leading caseflow management, directing human resources, supervising jury operations, and managing fiscal administration. The position also develops and implements court procedures that ensure compliance with AOPC reporting requirements and supports efficient, effective court operations.
Responsibilities- Prepares and distributes the daily and annual court calendars, updates and maintains calendar changes, and oversees requests for continuances to ensure accurate scheduling and efficient court operations.
- Schedules motions, petitions, rules, and related matters on the court calendar; provides timely notification to attorneys; and prepares and distributes court orders, hearing notices, and briefing schedules to ensure accurate and efficient case processing.
- Prepares and distributes the criminal status list and arraignment list; tracks criminal cases throughout the case lifecycle; schedules cases for pre‑trial conferences for unrepresented defendants.
- Attends court to support the call of status on criminal matters and manages the preparation and distribution of court orders, hearing notices, and briefing schedules.
- Schedules pretrial conferences on the civil trial list and tracks civil cases.
- Coordinates and schedules conferences for custody matters and maintains the tracking of custody cases.
- Responsible for the supervision of administrative and clerical personnel.
- Prepares assignment forms for Senior Magisterial District Judges.
- Maintains and tracks employee leave balances under the direction of the President Judge; prepares the annual budget and manages the ordering and inventory of office supplies to support daily court operations.
- Distributes information received from AOPC to the Minor Courts and coordinates the procurement of supplies and services for those courts.
- Oversees the tracking and preparation of AOPC Statistical Reports; manages the assignment of court‑appointed attorneys; coordinates requests for visiting judges appointments.
- Manages the jury system, including juror selection, coordination, and documentation, and prepares required materials for state reimbursement when applicable to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- Attends exit conferences upon completion of audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Judicial, Business or Public Administration, or closely related field; PLUS Two years of professional-level experience in court management OR three years of varied office management work, including professional-level experience in budgeting, procurement, and human resources management.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Graduation from an ABA-approved law school preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Satisfactory criminal background check required.

- Starting Salary Range: $56,302 - $76,944
- Current Maximum Salary: $118,229
