Employee will be assigned to the Division of Water and Waste Management, Permitting Section. Under the general supervision of the Team Supervisor, employee will work within a team-oriented environment while independently performing a variety of complex clerical duties requiring the interpretation and application of office procedures, rules, regulations, policies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing and coordinating mass mailings to permit tees.
- Managing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests a critical and complex component of the division's clerical operations.
- Collaborating with various teams including individual permit, general permit, stormwater/groundwater, and solid waste/RCRA waste permit teams to gather and compile requested information in a timely manner.
- Maintaining organized filing systems, entering data into computerized databases, generating reports, and requesting information from other sections and offices as needed.
- Answering and screening telephone calls and visitors, providing information, taking messages, and routing mail to appropriate staff.
- Using discretion and judgment to prioritize and alert supervisors and staff of urgent correspondence and calls requiring immediate attention.
- Performing additional related duties as required.
- Employee should be proficient in the use of standard office equipment such as copy machines, personal computer, calculators and fax machines.
- Selected employee will have experience and skills in using Windows based operating systems.
- Qualifying applicants will be required to complete an internet based profile assessment to compare the applicant's thinking and reasoning skills, behavioral traits and the occupational interests against the traits determined to be important to the posted position.
- The recommended candidate will be subject to a search of his or her Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) prior to being hired and annually thereafter or as needed.
Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Experience- Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work or customer-facing roles.
- College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
