Responsibilities Secretarial Responsibilities
  • Schedules and organizes meetings, events, and other school activities
  • Designs and prepares forms
  • Inspects, verifies, and processes documents such as requisitions, invoices, and checks
  • Files materials, maintains classified or confidential files, and transfers records to inactive files
  • Designs, implements, and accesses files and filing systems
  • Orders books, periodicals, and school supplies
  • Places and receives telephone calls
  • Prepares payroll records and assists in maintaining time sheets for personnel, expediting them to the finance office
  • Composes, types, and processes correspondence
  • Inputs data into the computer
  • Advises cooks of the appropriate number of persons eating
  • Uses a computerized point of service program to fulfill reporting requirements of the school lunch program
  • Receives cost payments from non‑students for meals sold, posts, and balances; collects and records lunch program payments to each student account
  • Maintains all applicable food service files as required by county policy and state and federal regulations
  • Demonstrates professional responsibilities such as attendance, punctuality, professional dress, and communication
  • Maintains confidentiality and unquestionable integrity
  • Prepares accurate county, state, and federal reports from raw data
  • Greets visitors, answers phones, and accurately routes messages
  • Develops a positive relationship with students, staff, and community
  • Maintains and/or upgrades skills and performs duties efficiently and productively
  • Adheres to the Employee Code of Conduct as outlined in Mineral County School’s Policy 4210; and
  • Performs duties as assigned by immediate supervisor(s)
Accountant Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates professional responsibilities such as attendance, punctuality, professional dress, and communication
  • Plans and prioritizes daily activities and anticipates job responsibilities
  • Operates the office efficiently in the absence of supervisor(s)
  • Completes tasks efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Designs and prepares individual reports, forms, and other office documents
  • Resolves problems with minimal assistance from supervisor(s)
  • Maintains confidentiality and unquestionable integrity
  • Develops a positive relationship with students, staff, and community
  • Manages financial matters related to the department and works cooperatively as a team member with the entire office staff
  • Attends training related to the job assignment and retrieves information and data from WVEIS
  • Reviews and processes purchase requisitions, obtaining bids as necessary, following established policies and guidelines
  • Searches for and negotiates new vendor agreements and payment terms to secure discounts and price breaks
  • Reviews new vendor and new product requests
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of West Virginia Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual, Board policies and administrative guidelines
  • Processes approved purchase orders, prepares invoices for payment, and performs reconciliations assigned by supervisor
  • Prepares cash receipts and related deposits according to administrative guidelines
  • Maintains and/or upgrades skills and performs duties efficiently and productively
  • Maintains positive work habits
  • Adheres to the Employee Code of Conduct as outlined in Mineral County School’s Policy 4210; and
  • Performs duties as assigned by immediate supervisor(s)
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Meeting the definition of "Qualifications" in WV Code §18A-4-8b and demonstrated competency under WV Code §18A-4-8e
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10
Physical Demands

Walk, use fingers, tools, or controls frequently; occasionally stand and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision, color vision, and depth perception. May lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Noise level varies from quiet to loud (40‑90 dB) depending on the assignment. Employee regularly interacts with the public, students and staff.
