Long Term Substitute Secretary II - TCMS - FY27-S-020
Job TitleLong-Term Substitute Secretary
LocationTaylor County Middle School
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- A passing score on the West Virginia Competency Test for secretaries.
- A passing score on the West Virginia competency Test for accountants is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills using both hardware and software
- Proficiency with computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics
- Deal with difficult situations and persons
- Such successful experience and training deemed necessary for the performance of assigned duties
- Experience with administration, WVEIS software, and word processing skills required
- Experience with the West Virginia Education Information System (WVEIS)
- Perform other duties requested by the Office Administration
- Maintain student permanent record files including preparation of transcripts, preparation of documents for digitization, updating of current student records, etc.
- Handle correspondence
- Maintain computerized records for school accounts
- Comply with all state and county policies with emphasis in the area of school finance
- Utilize various software packages including financial, record retrieval, word processing, etc.
- Act as receptionist for the school by answering phones, assisting visitors to the school, etc.
- Enter and retrieve information and data from WVEIS as it relates to the job
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on various office machines
- Assist with the completion of payroll reports
- Dispense medications and maintain proper documentation
- Maintain log of visitors to the school.
- Prepare reports as needed
- Dress should be professional and appropriate to the position
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principal
Effective Date:
Upon Board Approval - July 1, 2026 until the return of the regular employee
