Construction Manager

Responsible for performing detailed planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of construction projects (self‑perform and subcontracted) on large chemical and manufacturing plants. The position oversees multiple simultaneous projects ranging from $2,000 to $5,000,000, prepares bid packages for subcontract work, and ensures work is executed in line with safety, cost, schedule, and quality targets and corporate and client expectations.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in the industrial or commercial construction industry (industrial preferred)
  • Experience in civil, structural, and architectural new construction, alterations, and maintenance to facilities including scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all construction phases
  • Experience overseeing projects in chemical, manufacturing, engineering, or office facility operations and systems (highly desired)
  • Extensive knowledge of construction and engineering methods, building codes, and regulations
  • Experience producing detailed estimates
  • Strong ability to adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast‑paced work environment
  • Demonstrate integrity consistent with Bilfinger Industrial Services' core values
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, providing leadership, guidance, and support to project teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, concise, and professional presentation of information
  • Adapt to evolving technology and design methods; proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and construction project management software
  • Mentor and train assistant‑level operations team members
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired
Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
    Plan, coordinate, and manage all facets necessary to complete projects within budget, on time, and with quality delivery; review and input into design packages for constructability; create and manage project budgets; collaborate with client, engineers, field staff, and subcontractors; manage delivery order execution, pre‑issuance, and detailed project scope; prepare proposal packages and negotiate with clients; establish logs for submittals and RFI;

    coordinate project close‑out, including documentation, inspections, and as‑built drawings; manage change communication.
  • Estimating:
    Perform independent review of detailed estimates; prepare estimates based on technical specifications, scope, drawings; conduct quantity take‑offs; confirm inclusion/exclusion of line items; develop pricing for non‑scheduled items; coordinate procurement of materials and resources; manage project budgets and track expenses.
  • Subcontractor Management:
    Solicit proposals from vendors; evaluate proposals for compliance; negotiate subcontractor agreements; coordinate buy‑outs and site visits; track proposals and enter data into project management software.
  • Scheduling:
    Establish and maintain project start, progress, and completion schedules; ensure adherence to timelines and milestones; manage schedules using RFI and submittal logs, cost information, and status meetings.
  • Business Development:
    Support identification, pursuit, and acquisition of new and repeat work; contribute to the development of technical and pricing proposals; promote revenue and gross profit growth on existing projects.
  • Safety:
    Ensure compliance with Bilfinger Industrial Services’ HSEQ guidelines and local requirements (OSHA, etc.).
Travel and Physical Demands

Occasional travel may be required. Performance of required duties will be in an on‑project/site office environment with daily site walks under various weather conditions.

Physical demands include walking terrain and surfaces, regularly sitting, standing, walking, talking and hearing, frequently using hands, occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting or reaching; frequently lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds; and vision requirements such as close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.
