The PBX Operator in the Front Office will be the heartbeat for Wilson Lodge and is responsible for processing courteous incoming and outgoing communications, while maintaining a positive and professional image.

Other duties may be assigned.

• Understands the telephone operator board or PBX switchboard operations.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays a must.
• Answers all incoming calls to the resort.
• Directs calls to guest rooms, staff, or departments through the switchboard or PBX system.
• Places outgoing calls when necessary.
• Provides information about lodge services or resort amenities to guests.
• Knows what action to take when an emergency call is required.
• Assists in reporting telephone equipment or service complaints and problems.
• Trains or assists with training new telephone operators in performance of job duties.
• To be fully aware of and adhere of health and safety, fire and bomb threat procedures.
• Multitasking abilities will always come in handy, because a switchboard operator may be asked to do other jobs as well.
• Open and close telephone functionality at the beginning and end of each day.
• Keep record of call logs.
• Ability to speak clearly, distinctly and with a friendly, courteous tone.
• Takes and distributes messages for guests, provides information on guest services, and answers inquiries about public resort events.
• Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.
