Position

Long Term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher – Capon Bridge Elementary School – Term:
Minimum 200 days annually – Closing date: 05/26/2026

Job Summary

Provide appropriate instruction to kindergarten students and ensure that students meet the learning objectives and standards for the appropriate grade level and subject area.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning and implementing West Virginia academic standards, content, and objectives
  • Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs
  • Responsible for implementing technology skills
  • Responsible for planning and implementing inclusion with special education students
  • Responsible for student achievement
  • Responsible for planning and implementing co‑teaching as appropriate
  • Analyze data and plan academic support
  • Collaborate with other professional staff to enhance instruction
  • Responsible for planning and implementing designated co‑curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs, and field trips
  • Responsible for administering formative assessments

    Responsible for planning and implementing personalized learning
  • Communicate with students, parents, and peers in an efficient manner
  • Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
  • Address and implement students' IEPs and 504 Plans and recommend revisions when needed
  • Meet professional responsibilities
  • Maintain professional work habits and adhere to the Teacher Code of Conduct
  • Implement any other programs designated by principal for school improvement
  • Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal
Qualifications

Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2. Criminal background check as required by WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Employees must remain free of alcohol or non‑prescribed drugs while in the workplace. Other duties as assigned by the principal.
