- A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience
- Satisfactory evaluations for the past five (5) years
- Prepare and deliver an orientation program for the beginning intern to be conducted prior to the beginning of the instructional term, but within the employment term (unless the beginning intern is hired after the beginning of the instructional term).
- Observe the classroom teaching skills of the beginning intern for at least one hour per week during the first half of the mentoring program, which may be reduced to one hour every two weeks during the second half of the mentoring program.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the beginning intern to discuss the performance and any improvements; these meetings may be reduced to biweekly meetings during the second half of the school year.
- Conduct monthly meetings of the professional support team to discuss the performance of the beginning intern.
- Complete and submit all paperwork, as requested, relating to the beginning internship program.
- Attend any state‑required county/state training sessions.
- The internship must consist of two full semesters.
Compensation: $100.00/month, not to exceed $1,000.00 (based on submittal of monthly paperwork). Compensation is discontinued if the intern resigns; not to exceed current school year.
