Normal contract – 200 days, typically eight hours per day, with flexibility as needed. Anticipated start date:
August 13, 2026. - Bid Period:
April 29 to May 6, 2026, 4 pm. Interviews may be arranged after bid period closes.
The Aide employed as an ECCAT may be required to ride the bus and assist students with boarding and disembarking. The aide will support classroom instruction, assist with students’ toileting needs, lift physically handicapped children, and perform duties assigned by the principal. The aide will also assist the teacher in teacher‑directed instructional activities, classroom management, socialization activities, and basic living skills of students.
When necessary, the aide will administer emergency first aid and provide assistance to students with physical disabilities. Bus duty and other classroom assignments may be assigned by the principal or county administration.
• Demonstrated competencies in reading, writing, spelling, and math.
• Verbal and written expression with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to manage young children using established behavioral management techniques.
• Working knowledge of first aid.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of Early Childhood WVDE approved coursework for ECCAT Authorization.
• Completion of state‑mandated training in the science of reading and numeracy instruction.
• ECCAT certification (temporary initially, progressing toward permanent certification per WVDE regulations).
• Pass the initial/yearly Bus Training offered by the transportation department.
Salary is based on experience and education level according to the MCS BOE salary schedule and includes a benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Pay grade E‑1.
