Bright Star Schools is a free, publicly funded and open enrollment non-profit organization with nine public charters in urban Los Angeles. Across all of our Bright Star sites, over 90% of our students are eligible for free and reduced lunch.

  • Adhere to Bright Star’s professional attire guidelines
  • Supervise bathroom breaks, as needed
  • Uphold attendance procedures each period using school information system, Aeries
  • Participates in school-wide culture events (i.e. Culture days, Songfest, Assemblies, and Field Day)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
• Instructional Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute the adopted Bright Star curriculum maps and guidelines, as well as instructional best practices
  • Create and submit weekly lesson plans/unit plans/overviews to administrator/coach
  • Use California Common Core standards and/or California State standards, where applicable, to plan rigorous lessons
  • Differentiated instruction for diverse learners (kinesthetic, English Language Learners, students with IEPs, advanced learners, etc.)
  • Employ strategies to know and understand students, prioritizing culturally responsive teaching
