• Teach foreign languages including but not limited to Spanish and French to students in grades 9-12.
• Provide appropriate instruction to high school students and ensure that students meet the learning objectives and standards for the applicable content and grade level.

• Base Salary $43,815 with a bachelor’s degree. Pursuant to WV Code § 18A-4-2, in accordance with Monroe County Teacher Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level, plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.

• Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and MCBOE Policy
  
  C.2.3, Performance Evaluation of School Personnel—Administrative Procedures.

• Appropriate certificate to cover grades 9-12.
• Plan and implement WV College and Career Readiness Standards.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Utilize technology skills.
• Plan and implement team teaching as appropriate.
• Be accountable for individual student achievement.
• May be responsible for planning and implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs, and field trips.
• Strong working/communication skills with students, parents/guardians and peers.
• Willing to implement other programs designated by the principal for school improvement.
• Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by the Principal.

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

• In accordance with West Virginia Code §18A-2-7b, Monroe County Schools will be implementing the Stay Put Rule. The WV Legislature has determined that frequent teacher changes—especially in elementary grades—are not in the best interest of students. As a result, the Legislature intends to minimize personnel transfers between professional positions within the 20 days preceding the start of the instructional term. However, the county board, based on the superintendent's recommendation, may approve filling a position during this period if it is deemed to serve the best interest of the students.
