ELA Coach for Title I

Immediate Supervisor:
Manager of PreK-5 Curriculum and Instruction

• Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate Endorsed in Elementary Education K-6
• LETRS trained or currently enrolled in the LETRS training program
• Knowledge of K-5 WVCCR Standards
• Master's degree preferred
• Coaching experience preferred
• Knowledge of MTSS framework
• Minimum of five (5) successful years of K-5 teaching experience required
• Fully certified K-6 Elementary Teacher at the time of application
• Ability to attend mandatory position training July 20-22, 2026 in Charleston
• Experience facilitating student centered coaching cycles
• Experience with school-level data collection and accountability for grant reporting
• Experience in supporting adult learners

Provide support for teachers in the implementation of evidence‑based literacy practices and provide instructional coaching, mentoring, modeling, and training to classroom teachers.

• Knowledge of K-5 West Virginia College and Career Readiness Standards for ELA.
• Maintain data collection and documentation of support of teachers.
• Follow duties set in consultation with WVDE.
• Follow WVDE monitoring protocols for initiative implementation.
• Facilitate meetings with teachers, principals, and Curriculum Director.
• Provide instructional support to teachers.
• Facilitate or participate in Professional Learning Communities.
• Support teachers in implementing evidence‑based literacy practices.
• Model and co‑teach high yield strategies.
• Analyze instructional and student data with teachers.
• Support collaborative planning with teachers.
• Collaborate with principals to strengthen Tier I instruction.
• Conduct classroom walk‑throughs with constructive feedback.
• Provide targeted professional development (grant based or school‑wide).
• Collaborate with other professional staff to enhance instruction.

210 day contract for the 2026/2027 school year at either Belington Elementary or Philippi Elementary. This is a grant funded position.

Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
