Employment Term
school year with anticipated start date of August 13, 2026. (Normal contract: 200 days).
Bid Period
May 28 - June 3, 2026, 3:00 pm. If necessary, interviews will be arranged after bid period closes.
Qualifications
Minimal qualifications will include a BA degree and valid West Virginia Teaching certification endorsed in Elementary Education K-6 or Multi-Subjects K-8 commensurate with the assignment. Applicant must possess the ability to successfully manage an instructional program for elementary school age students.
Duties & Responsibilities Foster a classroom climate conducive to learningDevelop instructional plans and organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working timeInstruct pupils in subject areas as specified in state law, curricula, and guidelines established by the local board of education and administrative regulationsProvide individual and small group instruction whenever appropriateAdapt curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual and special abilitiesEstablish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environmentSupervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day, as requiredEvaluate each pupil's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding; monitor progress toward learning outcomes; prepare progress reportsCommunicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress; promote positive pupil-teacher-parent relationshipsMaintain basic attendance accounting and business services, as requiredServe as resource person on interdepartmental levelAdhere to all federal, state, and local educational policiesReport to work one-half hour prior to start of school and remain at least ten minutes after close of schoolPerform all other duties as assigned, according to need, by the school principal.Discrimination Prohibited
