The Linsly School, a grade 5-12 independent day and boarding school in Wheeling, seeks a dynamic, full-time High School Mathematics Teacher for the  Academic Year. The Mathematics Department seeks teachers who will strengthen our community by upholding our high academic standards and traditional values while bringing energy, creativity, and innovative teaching methods to our classrooms.

Qualifications
  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field (an Advanced degree is preferred)
  • Have a strong academic background in Calculus concepts, including differential and integral calculus, limits, derivatives, and applications of calculus in real-world contexts.
  • Have previous experience in a high school math classroom, as a teacher or teaching assistant.
  • Most importantly, possess a passion for teaching and a desire to create dynamic and challenging learning experiences that engage and inspire our students.

As a day/boarding school, on-campus faculty housing is a possibility but not a requirement. Additional duties and responsibilities are required for living on campus, but the benefits of being a part of the residential community are also substantial.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 5 sections of high school Mathematics courses, including AP Calculus AB & BC
  • Be a productive member of the Mathematics department by attending meetings, updating course curricula, seeking professional development opportunities, and supporting the goals of the department
  • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, overseeing their academic and social growth
  • Connect with students outside of the classroom through extracurricular activities
