Position Title: Summer School Special Education Aide/Bus Aide
Location: James Monroe High School, Monroe County Schools
Effective Date: June 29, 2026 through July 31, 2026
Job Description- The summer school program for all grade levels will take place at James Monroe High School.
- Assist teacher in instructional activities as directed.
- Share in responsibility of protecting students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Perform limited, rotating supervisory duties not related to instruction.
- Meet the bus at Mountain View School each morning and ride the bus back to Mountain View in the evening, providing necessary assistance during transportation.
- Demonstrate positive work habits and perform duties efficiently and productively.
- Be physically capable of lifting and supervising children as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of students’ protected educational and health‑related information.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; or successfully completing a GED program.
- Pass state and county aide test, and meet qualifications for an aide.
- Must have a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification along with a food handler’s certification.
- Must be an employee of Monroe County Schools.
Daily Rate of Pay $133.05. Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
