Extracurricular Band Camp Instructor – Gilmer County Schools

Contract/Hourly Employment. (4 positions)

Gilmer County High School

Employment Term:
July 20, 2026 – July 31, 2026

Salary: $300 stipend based on experience

• Woodwind Instructor – supervise and instruct woodwind instrumentalists
• Brass Instructor – supervise and instruct brass instrumentalists
• Percussion Instructor – supervise and instruct percussionists
• Colorguard Instructor – supervise/instruct color guard members, willingness to craft routines

• Work and communicate closely with Directors and Instructors to aid in efficient rehearsals.
• Attend Band Camp M‑F from 8 am‑4 pm.
• Assist in running instrumental sectionals to teach warm‑ups, music, routine, drill, etc.
• Foster and facilitate activities.

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. College music major or degree‑seeking preferred.
• Strong instrumental and teaching skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and positivity as a role model for middle/high school students.
• Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with the band director.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code 18‑5‑15c and/or 18A‑3‑10.
