• Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission

• Teaches at an appropriate instructional level and develops content aligned with standards‑based instruction and student learning objectives.
• Assesses student progress, promotes engagement, and responds to varying performance levels.
• Manages the learning environment, using instructional time efficiently and maintaining appropriate classroom behavior.
• Follows professional practices consistent with school and system policies when working with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Interacts professionally with students and parents and is available for conferences per system policies.
• Facilitates home‑school communication through conferences, telephone, and written communication.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records and complies with administrative regulations.
• Works cooperatively with administrators, support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
• Complies with school, system, and state regulations and Board of Education policies.
• Conducts assigned classes at scheduled times and enforces student conduct regulations.
• Maintains punctual attendance and a professional appearance.
• Provides information, plans, and materials for substitute teachers and maintains accurate records.
• Completes assignments on time and participates in faculty meetings and other school activities.
• Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities assigned, following contract conditions.
• Demonstrates accurate, up‑to‑date content knowledge and maintains lesson plans as required.
• Prepares instructional aids, supplemental materials, and reasonable homework tasks.
• Maintains fair grading policies and attendance records.
• Adheres to professional behavior, ensuring school safety and order.
• Uses technology such as interactive boards and student response systems to enhance instruction.
• Familiar with the school safety manual and disaster response procedures.
• Participates in professional learning opportunities to apply new concepts in the classroom.
• Supervises teacher assistants or paraprofessionals when applicable.
• Channels official business through the Principal to higher school officials.
• Complies with PSC Code of Ethics and other regulations and policies.

Performance of this job will be evaluated consistent with Calhoun County School System policies.
