Based upon the Boone County Schools Teacher Salary Schedule, including applicable experience and degree classifications, and in accordance with West Virginia State Code.

Qualifications
  • Holds or is eligible to obtain a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate with appropriate Elementary Education or applicable endorsement(s) required for the assignment.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a Masters in Reading or a Reading Certification
  • Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices, intervention strategies, and assessment techniques.
  • Possesses strong instructional, communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and support personnel.
  • Meets all Boone County Schools employment requirements, including successful completion of background checks and required trainings.
Job Goal

To provide supplemental instructional support and intervention services to eligible students through the Title I program, helping students achieve proficiency in reading, mathematics, and other academic areas while supporting the overall educational mission of Sherman Elementary School.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide supplemental instruction and intervention services to students identified for Title I support.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Utilize student performance data and assessment results to plan and implement targeted instruction.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to maximize student achievement.
  • Assist in the implementation of the school's Title I program in accordance with federal, state, and county requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress monitoring, assessments, and required Title I documentation.
  • Participate in the administration and analysis of academic assessments used to identify student needs and measure program effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and families to support student learning and academic success.
  • Assist with parent engagement activities and communications required under the Title I program.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of school-wide strategies to improve student achievement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and records in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal Title I regulations, West Virginia Board of Education policies, and Boone County Board of Education policies.
  • Provide appropriate supervision of students during the instructional day and at assigned school activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
