Lewis County Salary Schedule + administrative supplement.
Location: Lewis County Schools, West Virginia.
Qualifications- Valid West Virginia Professional Administrative certification with Superintendent or Supervisor General Instruction endorsement.
- Master’s degree in special education, educational leadership, or a related field.
- Prior successful administrative experience and special education teaching experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing special education.
- Proficiency in budgeting, grant funding, and financial management.
- Strong collaborative skills with educators, families, and the broader community.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate all educational programs for students with disabilities, including special education, gifted, 504 plans, IDEA, preschool, counseling, CIS, nursing, and Title IX services.
- Oversee and manage county‑wide special services programs, ensuring compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504, and West Virginia Policy 2419.
- Implement state and federal mandates, monitor policies across all county schools, and evaluate and identify students with disabilities or giftedness.
- Collaborate with district leaders to improve student achievement, graduation rates, and post‑secondary transitions.
- Supervise, mentor, and train special education staff; assist building principals in identifying needs and securing funding for IEP implementation.
- Collect, maintain, and submit legally required reports and data; oversee data analysis and reporting.
- Manage budgets, grant allocations, and staffing ratios for the department; administer financial records and grant expenditures.
- Resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and conduct due‑process hearings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Lewis County Salary Schedule applicable to degree level and experience, plus an administrative supplement.
