Teacher of Multi‑Categorical with Autism and Severe (Job )

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a BA degree and a valid West Virginia Teaching Certification endorsed in Multi‑Categorical, Autism, and Severe for grades commensurate with the assignment. Applicants must possess the ability to successfully manage an instructional program for K‑12 students. Prior experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is preferred.
Responsibilities
Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.Develop instructional plans and organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and working time.Instruct pupils in subject areas as specified in state law, curricula, and guidelines established by the local board of education and administrative regulations.Provide individual and small group instruction whenever appropriate.Adapt curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities.Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment.Supervise pupils in out‑of‑classroom activities during the assigned working day, as required.Evaluate each pupil's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding; monitor progress toward learning outcomes; prepare progress reports.Communicate with parents and school counselors on pupil progress; promote positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.Maintain basic attendance accounting and business services, as required.Serve as resource person on interdepartmental level.Adhere to all federal, state, and local educational policies.Report to work one‑half hour prior to start of school and remain at least ten minutes after close of school.Perform all other duties as assigned, according to need, by the school principal.Employment Term
school year with anticipated start date of August 13, 2026 (Normal contract: 200 days).
Salary
Salary based on experience and education level per MCS BOE salary schedule, with a competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
